Two small villages 9km apart and a legendary rivalry. On the Brazilian side, the inhabitants of Belezura, a town where people survive from jobs in a furniture factory, are about to face two events that will change their lives: The closing of the factory and the last soccer game against their archrivals from the Argentinean neighborhood which, for them, just happen to be the last game before the end of the world. But everyone agrees in one point – they need to win, even if it means giving their own lives to it.
Q&A with Roberto Studard, Director
About the director:
After graduating in business, Roberto decided to chase his true passion and left to California, to study Film at UCLA. Some years later, back in Brazil in full power, São Paulo was the place to be. Roberto quickly made his way up to 2nd AD and 1st AD. In 2013, Roberto released his first documentary, starting a new life as writer, director and producer. His second documentary, “Mad Dogs”, travelled the world being in the official selection of several film festivals, including Sheffield Doc Fest and Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Mad Dogs was also turned into a 10 episode doc-series and sold to more than 20 countries. Roberto’s latest film (and first feature film) “O Último Jogo”, attracted the attention of well-known developing and co-production programs such as EAVE and Ibermedia. The film was released in 2021, during pandemic. Roberto has also directed several TV commercials and currently lives between São Paulo and Lisbon
