Slam: Voice of Uprising

SLAM: Voice of Uprising explores the powerful world of spoken word poetry battles. Born in Chicago and brought to Brazil in 2008, the movement has become a vital tool for political and social protest among young black, peripheric, and feminist voices. Directed by Tatiana Lohmann and Roberta Estrela D’Alva, the documentary tracks the vibrant Brazilian scene and follows 2016 national champion Luz Ribeiro to the World Cup of Slam in Paris, proving how words can trigger a revolution.
