In the Jamâ Ty Tânh village (Estrela, RS), the story of Chief Maria Antonia Soares comes to life through the voices of her sisters, who carry on her legacy of leadership. Killed on the very day she regained her freedom, she became a symbol of Kaingang female resistance and the fight for cultural preservation and the rights of Indigenous peoples.
