Meet the Director

Eduardo Albergaria is a writer, director and producer that founded Urca Filmes, one Brazil’s most respected independent production shops. “Our Dream – A Rio de Janeiro funk story” is his second feature film and has been short-listed as one of Brazil’s possible representatives at the 2024’s Oscars.

He has won an IBERMEDIA and INCAA-ANCINE prize for the development of his first feature, “Happy Hour”, co produced by Argentinian Oscar Winner Producer Vanessa Ragone.

As the creative leader and writer of Urca Filmes he has bem collaborating with talents such as Mr. Jeremy Pikser, Manuela Dias, Maria João Costa, Ana Cohan, among others.

He is post producing a feature documentary about one of Brazil’s comedy gems and he is prepping to helm a four episode drama series about Belchior, a Brazilian pop icon.
